Female string bands are a recent phenomenon. Happily,
they're no longer the scandal they once were. This woman
uses a highly unconvential posture to play the 'bush
bass' as the instrument is known locally.
This is only the second year that women were allowed
to compete in the annual Fest Napuan music competition.
They are still, however, relegated to their own category,
and win much smaller purses than the men.
