This is one of the elders in Jacob's extended family. He moved from
Santo to Vila about the time of Jacob's marriage, but even so, we don't see
too much of him. He doesn't get around much these days.
I took this photo when we went to visit our Ambrym family who had
been displaced by the violence early in March.
Families get so extended that, even after years spent trying to
keep track, I still don't know a lot of people's names. It doesn't help
that one has to be circumspect about names, too, because it's considered
somewhat rude - okay <em>very</em> familiar - to refer to people by
their first name.
